Do my files get uploaded when I clean metadata?
No. Metadata cleaning happens entirely inside your browser — your images, videos and documents never leave your device. You can even go offline after the page loads and it still works.
What metadata does it remove?
EXIF data (camera model and settings), GPS location, timestamps, and AI-generation tags such as C2PA / Content Credentials embedded by AI editing tools.
Does it change how my photo looks?
No. Only the hidden metadata is removed — the pixels stay identical, so the image quality is unchanged.
Can it remove metadata from PDFs and Word documents?
Yes. It strips document metadata (author, timestamps, and the XMP/Content Credentials block) from PDF, Word (.docx) and PowerPoint (.pptx) files too.
Will this remove Instagram's 'Made with AI' label?
It removes the C2PA tag that triggers that label. If your real photo was flagged after a routine AI-assisted edit, cleaning the file before uploading prevents the label.
